Still no sign of Araragi. Still no searching for the tiger. All we have is Hanekawa and Hitagi talking nonsense for half an hour. And that’s a good thing.
Ok all jokes aside, several things do happen in this episode. Black Hanekawa wakes up late at night, finds the Tiger and warns him that if he gives anymore stress to hanekawa, things will not stay calm. The tiger acknowledges Black Hanekawa’s powers, but claims that he will do whatever he pleases. They fight near the area, but we never find out who won. All we do know is that when trying to sneak back, Hitagi meets Black Hanekawa for the first time and shakes her hand despite her permanent life drain(yes, i know that the Cat spirit in Hanekawa is male).
So how in the world is that not alot? That’s because the majority of the episode is still focused mainly on Hanekawa and Hitagi’s relationship. From bathing with yuri undertones, talking about what they hate about Araragi, to commenting on just eachother’s taste in food says alot about eachother. Hanekawa notices that Hitagi is much more playful and sexually open than before, which is possibly an after effect from dating Araragi.
However, she still has the sharpness of her old self, as simply noticing how Hanekawa prefers no condiments on her food(Salad without dressing, Coffee without sugar) and yet claiming she isn’t picky proves that she doesn’t really know what she likes. She just says she likes everything in order to not upset anyone, an after effect of her abusive parents.
Senjougahara sees this as understandable, but also insulting due to the fact that any expression of hers could be a lie. So before the ep ends, she pretty much asks the same question she asked at the end of ep 1:”Do you still like Araragi?”. We can probably guess yes, but it nevertheless makes this pairing fascinating to listen too. And of course, that bath scene is pretty hot. 🙂
