The saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, applies to Nagi no Asukara so much. When I first came across this series, I assumed that it will be your typical overly done, cliché high school drama series that we have seen many times before. But, as you keep on watching and the show continues on from one episode to the next, you come to realize that these self-fabricated assumptions are incorrect.
Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta AKA The Pilot’s Love Song is about a young boy named Kal-El Albus who is also a pilot in training. He honestly isn’t who he makes himself out to be, and it is more than obvious that he possesses another motive besides aiming to fly the skies as a pilot. In reality, he is actually the surviving prince of a nation who lost everything and everyone he loves during a period of time called “The Wind Revolution”. Now as a young man, he is out to seek revenge for the harsh infidelities he lived through during that time.
Time continues to move on and the characters of Nagi no Asukara are slowly adapting to the changes.
We finally get the chance to learn about Kal-El’s past when he was the crowned prince of the Balsteros Empire.
Yay! Hikari is back! He is alive, awake, and kicking!
But, wait. . Back up. What does his awakening entail afterwards? For him and everyone who cares about him?
This second episode wasn’t as fast-paced when it came to romance like the previous one. Also, the characters and plot seems to be more fleshed out now because certain aspects were left unexplained in the first episode.
Finally! I have been waiting for Episode 14 of Nagi no Asukara to come out!
The anime series has returned and it doesn’t disappoint! There are big changes in terms of characters, time, plot progression, opening and ending themes, you name it!
Boy, was that one exciting episode! Totally didn’t see the last 5 minutes or so coming!
Like, seriously! What happened?!?!
First and foremost, allow me to express how I honestly didn’t expect much from this anime series when I first read about it. But, watching it, became a whole different story for me.
